  SCARS

Nice racing game with cars based around an animal theme, loads of fun and has great large tracks.

  Extreme G

A little rough around the edges Extreme G was a very rewarding experience for anyone who took the time to master it, the game is obviously inspired by Wipeout but has a very different cyberpunk inspired feel to it, and some fantastic rollercoaster-esque level designs of it's own.

  Rakuga Kids

Unfortunately one of the genre's the N64 really lacked in was fighting, luckily Konami's Rakuga Kids just about holds up the systems classic style 2D fighting requirement, though it would've been nice to have a little more choice in the genre.

  Top Gear Overdrive

This is a really nice, fast arcade style racer for the system, great music, great presentation, loads of cool shortcuts, really looks the business with the expansion pak.

  Goemon's Great Adventure

The 2nd Goemon game on the N64 went back to the classic 2D styling, it's very cool game and one of the best 2D games on the system, there's is also, I believe a secret 4 player mode in it accessed by collecting a certain number of hands.

  Top Gear Rally

Very well rounded rally game with loads of cars and challenging tracks.

  Starcraft 64

Starcraft really improved and pushed the RTS genre forward from the groundwork laid down by Command and Conquer, this conversion (the only console port the game received) was equally as great as C&C though equally sorely missing the mouse and keyboard controls of it's PC parent, the split screen multiplayer helps to make up for that issue to an extent though.

  Forsaken

Forsaken is an update on the gameplay of an older PC game called Descent, it's a very nice and engrossing game when you've got the hang of it.

  International Superstar Soccer 98'

This was pretty much the superlative footy game for me for the time. loved it.

  Pokemon Puzzle League

Unfortunately there were never any true Pokemon games made for the N64, a fact made even more annoying when taking into account the RPG drought the console experienced, out of the cash-in's this Pokemon themed version of the SNES classic Tetris Attack still contained all the great gameplay of the original, albeit with Pikachu's face plastered all over it.

  All Star Baseball 2000

Great graphics, great gameplay, did a good job of translating the sport, enough said

  Quake 64

A little bit later on the scene than the other console ports, Quake 64 a least made up for it in the looks department and the gameplay was still as atmospheric, creepy and exciting as it ever was.

  Fighter's Destiny

Fighters Destiny is a strange 3D fighting game, it seems to me to have more in common with the karate games of old than it's peers of the time, everything revolves around a points system and matches regularly turn into tense stand-offs betwen players looking for an opening. Trying to get the secret character Joker is also what must be one of the most soul destroyingly difficult moments in gaming.

  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  Rogue Squadron
The first game in the popular series of rail shooters made by Factor 5, most of the best elements apparent in later games were already well established here and the game is easily, along with Star Fox 64 one of the best rail shooters out there.

  Duke Nukem Zero Hour

A very different take for the second Duke game on N64, this time a 3rd person Tomb Raider-esque action adventure game Zero Hour went through the genre transition surprisingly well.

  F1 World Grand Prix

Easily one of the best formula 1 games on the market at the time F1 World Grand Prix looks fantastic, handles extremely well and plays excellently.

  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  Harvest Moon

Very addictive simulation game where you have to run a farm, make friends, get married and have children and such, it's a lot more fun than it sounds and is generally a game that oozes quality and charm.

  V-Rally 99'

V-Rally was a brilliant arcade racer obviously based on the Sega Rally model, looks great, plays great, another classy racing game for the 64'

  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  Castlevania
It's certainly a serious step-down from Symphony of the Night, and it's camera is hardly perfect but Castlevania 64 is still a classic Castlevania game through and through with it's great set-pieces, action and exciting gameplay to it's credit.
  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
  Mortal Kombat 4

Pretty much the same gameplay from Mortal Kombat 3 but now with updated 3D graphics, probably the best 3D fighter on the N64 and the only worthwhile MK game on the system.
